MONTHLY MADDEN RULES

Welcome to The Game Room Club's Monthly Madden Tournament! All participants are expected to know and uphold the rules associated with The Game Room Club leagues and tournaments to include Club Play by The Game Room Club. Participants will not receive refunds or compensation of any kind for inability to play as a result of disqualification or violations of The Game Room Club's rules and regulations. Participation in our competitions constitutes acceptance of the Madden Monthly rules.

The Game Room Club reserves the right to add, remove, or otherwise amend all rule sets without prior notice. However, The Game Room Club will use its best efforts to provide reasonable notice prior to any significant rule changes.

The process for playing is simple:

  1. Visit the Events page and register to play.
  2. Check back on the date listed on the event page for the list of matchups. EACH MATCH SET IS A BEST OF THREE COMPETITION. One match set will be played per day of the tournament. The first player to win 2 games in a match set is considered the match winner.
  3. Once the matchups are posted, send a message to your opponent through The Game Room Club messages function on the mobile app or in your browser of choice to schedule a time to play on the listed Game Day. VERIFY YOUR OPPONENTS' TIMEZONE BEFORE SCHEDULING YOUR MATCHES.
  4. Whomever reaches out first will be the match host.
  5. Play your required games to complete the match set. Your first three games are the games that count. You and your opponent may agree to take breaks between games in a match set, but the match set must be completed and reported by the time(s) listed in the event post.
  6. Any player who doesn't connect within 15 minutes of their scheduled match will forfeit their match.
  7. Stream the game via YouTube, Twitch, or Facebook so that we have a record of the match.
  8. Both players must report their scores by posting their Game Room Club usernames as well as the final score and a link to the streamed game in the comment section of the event post.
  9. There will be one scheduled match set per day of the tournament. Matchups will be posted daily at the time on the event post and matches must be played daily until we have a winner.  Once your match set is complete and reported feel free to connect with other club members to play for fun!
  10. If players cannot agree on a time, your opponent is a no-show, or you have any other issues, please contact the admin: @thegameroomclub and we will inform you of how to proceed.
  11. Read the rules below.

Important Rules To Note:

While smack talk is encouraged and to be expected, bullying, profanity, hate speech, and otherwise unsportsmanlike conduct will get you removed from the tournament and/or banned from The Game Room Club.

Game Days will not be rescheduled for any reason. If you cannot play on Game Day you WILL forfeit. Games must be started within 15 minutes of agreed upon kick-off time. Games MUST BE completed by 11:50 PM Pacific on Game Day. If you need to reschedule an agreed upon kick-off time you MUST get your opponent to agree to the time change, or you must play at the previously agreed upon time. If your opponent has not joined the game within 15 minutes of the agreed upon kick-off time you must immediately report your opponent as absent and their score will be recorded as a forfeit. Scores must be reported by 11:59 PM Pacific time on each game day.

The player who reaches out to their opponent first will be match set host. Please VERIFY YOUR OPPONENTS' timezone when agreeing to a match time. If there is miscommunication about timezone efforts must be made to re-schedule on game day. If it is not possible to re-schedule or if opponent does not realize that there was a miscommunication about the scheduled kick-off time, the scheduled kick-off time in the timezone of the match host will be considered the official start time for the match.

Cheating of any kind is disallowed. Cheating includes the deliberate use of glitches and/or errors in the game code to facilitate a win for the offending player. Cheating will result in an automatic loss for the game played by the offending player and may result in permanent removal from The Game Room Club’s competitions.  Cheaters forfeit their rights to any refund.

ALL COMMUNICATION between opponents must be completed on The Game Room Club website or mobile app. If you choose to communicate outside of the website or app and there is a dispute we will not be able to determine the actual problem and we will make whatever decision we feel to be reasonable.

PLAY YOUR ASSIGNED GAMES FOR YOUR MATCH SET BACK TO BACK.

At least one of the players must stream their match set to help provide proof in case of a dispute. If neither player has streamed their match set and their is a dispute, we may, at our discretion, require the match set be replayed or charge both players with a loss and disqualification. In the case of any disputes The Game room Club has sole discretion and final say in the ruling.

If you are eliminated be sure to still monitor the event. Some eliminated players may be selected at random to be reactivated in later rounds of the competition.

MADDEN RULES & SETTINGS

Game Settings: Unless otherwise specified, the following settings must be used:

  • Fatigue: ON
  • Even Teams: OFF
  • Game Speed: NORMAL
  • Weather: OFF
  • Quarter Length: 5 Minutes

Players will be allowed to use all packages available to them in the Package feature and there are no limitations on Special Teams substitutions.

Lag/Settings/Teams: After 2 minutes of gameplay any complaints on lag, pre-game settings, or banned teams will not be taken into consideration. No exceptions. (Note: connection is much better if you use a LAN cable instead of WiFi.)

Disconnections: In the event of a disconnection, you and your opponent must finish the remaining time of the match, keeping the score the same as it was in the game that got disconnected. i.e. If the disconnection occurred in at the end of the 1st quarter, the new game should be played until the end of the 3rd quarter. We highly recommend recording video of all game footage in case of a dispute.

If you can't continue the match within 15 minutes of disconnecting, The Game Room Club may rule on the match using our discretion. If you were losing, you will be given the loss. If you were winning, the match may be canceled or you may be given the loss depending on the circumstances. It is up to the player who was losing to reach out and attempt to play the match again. If you were losing and no attempt is made to play again within 15 minutes, you will lose the match.

Show Playbook: Users must show and confirm playbooks before starting the match. Do not start the match until you’ve confirmed your opponents playbooks.

No Customs: The use of custom playbooks is NOT allowed. The actual "West Coast" and "Multiple-D" Playbooks are allowed. Custom playbooks show up as "West Coast" and "Multiple-D" in the pre-game match screen. If you get caught using a Custom playbook claiming to use the real "West Coast" or "Multiple-D" playbook, you will either forfeit or have the match canceled. If you ready up to play against "West Coast" or "Multiple-D", and suspect your opponent is using a Custom at any time, you must quit the match immediately. You need sufficient evidence of your opponent running a play/formation that is not in the "West Coast" and "Multiple-D" playbook to support your claim.

Accelerated vs Chew clock:
Accelerated clock is a PRE-game setting that is set by the match host. This will cause the play clock to consistently run down to 15/20/25 seconds for each player throughout the entire match. NOTE - the clock automatically runs time off in All-Madden difficulty after selecting a play or during a hurry-up offense. This is NOT Accelerated clock.

Chew clock is an IN-game option that's available to anyone picking an offensive play. Chew will bring the playclock down to 10 seconds after an offensive play is selected. It is legal to Chew at any time and is not disputable unless otherwise specified.

Pause Timer: If you are "Kicked for Excessive Griefing" when you are losing a match or the game is tied, you automatically lose. If you are kicked when you are winning a match, the match will be cancelled. If you're kicked prior to the end of the first quarter of game play and the score is tied, we will consider it a non issue and the game should be replayed.

Online Squads Only: Matches must be played with Online Squads only. You are not allowed to import or customize a team or a franchise.
